i have just returned from seeing budrus, and was completely blown away.
a fantastic documentary that is as humorous as it is depressing highlighting non-violent struggle in the occupied palestinian territories from the perspective of villagers being affected by the construction of the wall. it shows the positive role of women in the non-violent struggle. it features oft-ignored reconciliation attempts between hamas and fatah on a local level along with a subtle questioning of leadership of such movements.
the trailer (and more information) is available here.
al jazeera's riz khan fronts a documentary on the documentary (meta documentary?) that is available here.
for those not feeling persuaded, look it up on rotten tomatoes and budrus.
